So my friend cuppaccinogaming advised a few people had commented on her current WIP link asking how she attained her green eye glow, I used the following formula and technique on my current WIP to demonstrate this process.
Please ignore my horrible photography.

COLOURS USED:
GOBLIN GREEN (GW)
MOOT GREEN (GW)
COELIA GREENSHADE (SHADE GW)
FLASH GITZ YELLOW (GW)
SKULL WHITE (GW)
WAYWATCHER GREEN (GLAZE GW)

STEP 1:
First step was to paint the area in which you want the glow with Goblin Green (GW), which is a nice base for the glow.
I know Goblin green is now no longer in print but you should be able to find a medium green to begin with.

STEP 2:
I’ve then washed the area with Coelia Greenshade (GW) wash which will add the shadow necessary for the glow.20131110-152335.jpg

STEP 3:
Then highlighting with Moot Green (GW), focusing on an area of glow sourcing itself from a certain point, in this case the eye is the central point of glow, when completing a model with two eyes simply make both eyes the focal point of the glow.

STEP 4:
Then adding Flash Gitz Yellow(GW) to the Moot Green(GW) mix on the Wet Palette, I then begin a more extreme level of highlight focusing on the tips and areas closest to the glow’s focal point.20131110-152342.jpg

STEP 5:
The Moot Green(GW) and Flash Gitz Yellow(GW) gets a small amount of Skull White Added to it and with each layer of paint more White is added to the mix.20131110-152350.jpg

STEP 6:
A final layer of just white is added to the eye itself to give it the illusion of light source – White being the brightest point. I then Give the entire area a wash of Waywatcher Green (GW) to give it a good gradient.
Then I go back and touch up the face area around the glow.

Below is a picture of the blend on the Wet Palette and the colours used.

Some Shifting Stones I’ve painted recently, not overly exciting.
I painted mushrooms on the models rather than Moss which most people seem to go with.

Mushrooms!

So yesterday I finished one of my favourite models of all time, Cassius the Oathkeeper and Wurmwood.
Such a unique and interesting caster in the fluff, a real question on who is controlling who as Cassius is merely a conduit for Wurmwold, but his conscious thought is now impacting Wurmwoods decisions. A really cool symbiotic relationship between two forces of unrelenting power!

Painting these models was a treat, something I’ve done different this time around is that I’ve given them both a sand base which I primed black then painted with Rhinox Brown then dry brushed with Graveyard earth.
The clincher is that I then gave it several washes of Corresberg Crimson and then a final wash of gloss varnish.
Which in most lights makes the ground like awash with blood.

In the storyline many members of Orboros hold huge sacrificial ceremonies in order to appease Wurmwood, flooding the ground with blood and organs.
I wanted to represent this on the miniature.

So after getting my hands on one of the new Dark Age Kukulkani miniatures and watching some Apocalypto I got stuck into these nasty folk.
I was highly inspired by the current paint scheme of the new dark age race and decided to go for a red version on my Tharn similar to the guy seen in these screenshots.
The idea being that the Tharn cover their bodies in red occur/paint before battle as part of the blood rituals.
I’ve also added some freehand tribal artwork to give them roots to their devourer wurm host.

Much needed UA for the Tharn Ravager unit, adding some extra hitting speed and some damage. Love the bone backpack thing on this model, Privateer press really do have some gorgeous model design going on lately.
Kept him simple and clean and painted him before I got my ravagers.
Skin was done with a simple airbrush 2 tone spray of white/offwhite and then given form with selective use of GW washes, to give depth and shadow, then highlighted (extreme) with more white added to my skin colour mix.

The Gorax! Very stoked they updated this model as his animus makes him practically an auto-include in all of my lists, such an aggro man-beast!
Spot varnish used on his eyes and mouth.

(Spot varnish is my nickname for using a gloss varnish in certain areas on a model I would consider wet or glowing maybe, this comes from graphic design and printing when you use a gloss spot varnish on a print)

Here’s my two Argi from the Battlebox, I painted one white (pre Winter Argus) because we had a white husky at the house I was staying at and the other brown after my family dog Buddy.

Epic version of Kaya and her mighty hound and animal counterpart Laris.
First time using an Airbrush on a model (Laris fur).

Hands down the coolest guy in the game, the pure physical manifestation of the devourer wurm, the beast that forever hungers and spills blood in devotion to the mighty wurm. This is easily one of my favourite models ever (despite removing the deer horns).

More circle today, this time my Warpwolf Stalker which I had mixed feelings about when finishing this model, not sold on the fur colour or the ripped flesh skin hide thing he is wearing, but I am a fan of my work on the sword.
